The authorities of Tajik capital Dushanbe will soon consider the issue of expanding the city.
In accordance with the general plan approved on April 28, 2017, the main administrative and territorial expansion of the city is planned to the south, partially to the north, east and west.
The implementation of the master plan is divided into stages, each of which will cover a specific period of development of the city until 2040.
It is planned to expand the built-up area of the capital from the current 12.7 thousand to 18 thousand hectares in 2025, 25 thousand hectares in 2040 and 30 thousand – after 2040.
The shape of the capital in recent years is changing in such a way that it is not recognizable.
Dushanbe is changing at a rapid pace due to the far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, and initiatives of the Chairman of the City of Dushanbe, respected by Rustami Emomali.
Despite the fact that Dushanbe is a relatively young city, as the capital, it is functionally formed. The architectural, spatial and functional-planning structure of the city includes the division of territories into administrative, public, residential, industrial and recreational areas.
