TajikistanToday.Org(English),The aviation authorities of Tajikistan are discussing with Qatari counterparts the establishment of regular and direct flights between Dushanbe and Doha.
The three-day negotiation period between the aviation authorities of the two countries will end in Doha on April 23, according to Tajik news agencies.
The delegation of Tajikistan is headed by Ikrom Subhonzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting with the head of the Civil Aviation Committee of Qatar, Abdullah Nasser Al-Zubay, on April 21, they discussed the execution of instructions from the leaders of both states in order to expand cooperation in the field of international transport.
The parties also discussed ways of practical implementation of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Traffic, signed during the official visit of the President of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon to Qatar in February 2017.
A non stop flight from Doha would increase the number of flights to Dushanbe significantly since world class airlines such as Qatar Airways might provide the service and specially attract more tourists and entrepreneurs to visit the central asian republic.
